Luray Zoo and Dinosaur Park

May 10th, 2002

Return to Luray.

Make no mistake, this place is real.

Hanging python at the real entrance.

Sleeping fruit.

These guys like being wet, but they aren't very dangerous.

Skinny dip, skinny dip!

This is the black mamba - the most dangerous snake in the world.

I'm really dangerous.

These are bearded lizards. They aren't very dangerous.

Snake thinks he's dangerous. Ha!

These guys are really dangerous.

Dangerous is as dangerous does.

This is a snapping turtle that could probably take my foot off. He or she is huge.

Mmmmmmm, Jimmy Hoffa.....

Horned viper bedded in sand. Also dangerous.

Snug as a bug in a rug.

How hairy her legs are! All the better to tickle you with.

I'm not dangerous. Go to sleep.

This is not the most dangerous snake in the world.

Yeah, and who are you?

But we seemed to connect.

Hey, buddy, you talking to me?

I did not use a flash with these pictures, and I did not tap on the glass, but this snake seemed to want to get to know me better.

Come a little closer, a little closer...

It was an 'In Your Face' kind of snake.
I left feeling like I'd disappointed both of us not knowing how to dance, where we were both so willing.

Kiss, kiss.
